Talkshows

During the festival daily talkshows will be held in the cocktailbar at 20.00.
Several different theme's from the festival programme will be discussed in the talkshows. Be informed about the Latin American cinema and culture. You don't need a ticket to visit the talkshows.

Cultural Sunday / Latin Sunday
On Sunday the 11th of May a Cultural Sunday will take place: Latin Sunday
A special day with an exciting and varied art program. Full of music, dance, theatre and film. On both small and big stages and on squares and in parks. It focuses on a broad audience and most of the times, the entrance is free.

Exposition

In the Louis Hartlooper Complex an exhibition about Luis Buñuel will be shown. The exposition will mostly exist of film posters and film stills.

Hivos-NCDO Culture fund Filmday
The Hivos-NCDO Culture Fund presents a special programme on Saturday 10 May from 4.30 pm till 11.30 pm. The three selected films represent Hivos and NCDO themes and originate from countries where Hivos works.

Film & Debate: Youths and Violence in Middle America

On Thursday May 8th, ICCO will organize a special film & debate programme, with the them "Youths and Violence in Middle America". After the showing of the film El Porvenir, a debate will take place about this subject.

Lecture: Luis Buñuel by José Lozano
In cooperation with Intistuto Cervantes, José Lozano will deliver a lecture title 'Luis Buñuel: Our Father who art in Hell'. After the lecture, the film Los Olvidados will be shown.

On Sunday evening May 11, Utrecht-León will organise another evening programma focussed on the newest films and documentaries from Nicaragua. There is also special attention for documentaries by Dutch film makers produced in Nicagarua.

During the LAFF, 4 masterclasses will be held. The masterclasses form part of courses from the University of Utrecht, but are open for public for this occassion.

Latin Film Summer - Film in de open air
|
Every second Tuesday of the month May-September, the Foundation LAFF organises a film evening on the Ledig Erf. During the festival week, the first film evening of the Latin Film Summer will take place. Especially for this first film evening, Foundation LAFF works together with Camera Mundo which has put together a special programme.
