Música at the LAFF
Besides the highlights of the Latin American cinema, music is indispensable. During the festival, in addition to the daily live music at the Ledig Erf, various DJs will fill up the cocktail bar with Latin sounds from all over the continent.Location: Cocktail bar (LHC)
Every day around 22.00
Since 2002, fans of Urban Latino, Patchanka and Mestizo already know their way to the ¿Qué Pasa?-evenings in the Melkweg in Amsterdam. DJ Rodrigo is one of the founders of these Latin America dance parties, who besides his work as a DJ concentrates on producing. On the 7th of May, he will set the party in the cocktail bar. He produced the track Pororoca of Zuco 103 on their latest remix album. On the 11th of May, the audience can enjoy his repertoire over a cocktail once again.
Big hits or small hits, DJ Poto Peludo puts everything in his ‘Wasmasjien' (washing machine). The organizer of the ‘Was-masjien' dance party and Fiesta Macumba, plays a mix of reggaeton, salsa, rock mestizo, merengue and hip hop on the 8th of May.
On the 9th of May Reggea, Ska, Dubb and Rocksteady will be played by the DJs of Collectief Elephant Soundsystem, known for its legendary nights in ACU in Utrecht.
The LAFF Chicas is a special DJ Collective by the staff members of the Latin American Film Festival. On Sunday evening, the ladies will put their Latin repertoire smoothly in a mix during the Rudo y Cursi Afterparty, where you can sing along because it's Karaoke time!
On the 12th of May it's DJ Ascona's night. In the previous years during the LAFF he took care of the music in the cocktail bar of the Louis Hartlooper Complex with his DJ Collective Naald en Kraak. He focuses on the authentic and original sound from the Latin American music from the 50s and 60s. Everything on vinyl.
Like the LAFF Chicas, the ladies of the DJ Collective Vrouwen van de Schande originate from the ranks of the festival staff members. They promise to play danceable music with a wink and a nudge on the 13th of May.
